The web platform earns its place on borrowed machines, locked-down work computers and any device where installing software is not allowed. For brokers it is also the shortest path from sign-up to a first trade.
A browser session depends on the connection in front of it, so for continuous automated strategies the desktop terminal remains the better host. For manual trading and account checks, the web platform is equivalent.
