Spend the first session setting up rather than trading. Build a short watchlist of instruments you genuinely intend to follow, open a chart and add the two or three studies you actually understand, and take a proper look at the account view so you know where positions, orders and history live. Ten unhurried minutes here saves a lot of fumbling later, when a market is moving and you want to act rather than explore.
Decide your risk before your first order, not during it. How much of the account are you willing to lose on a single trade, and where does the stop go? Those two answers turn a chart observation into a plan, and they are far easier to settle calmly than in the middle of a move.
