There is no need to install additional desktop software to trade with TM9, and once you have worked that way for a while it becomes hard to go back. The platform runs in virtually any modern web browser on any operating system: connect to the internet, log in to your trading account, and the charts, analysis tools, order ticket and account view are all there.
Three things follow from that. You stop maintaining software on several machines. You can reach your account from whichever computer is in front of you, whether that is a work laptop, a borrowed desktop or a machine in another country. And because data transmitted between the browser and the platform is securely encrypted, that convenience does not come at the cost of an unprotected session.
